Bible Core Course - BCC (CCM 301)

    The Bible says that "the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Heb 4:12-13). But how can this incredible statement be true in our lives unless we know what the scripture says? The Bible Core Course is 3 months of focused Bible study that reveals the power of the Word of God to penetrate the heart.

   This second level YOUTH WITH A MISSION School (successful completion of a DTS is required) equips the students with the tools for life to study the Bible. BCC teaches the inductive study approach. The inductive approach is:

   - You spending time in His word allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you;
   - You setting aside preconceived notions and approaching the word with a willingness to hear him afresh;
   - You learning to interpret the Bible in context (symbols, tough passages, etc);
   - You studying the Bible in the historical setting of its original writing;
   - You learning to live what the word says by directly applying these principles to your life;
   - You learning how to proclaim the truths of the word to others.

   BCC teaches the students to study the word and interpret for themselves!!!!!!

   BCC incorporates modern study methods, and moves away from only lecturing from the front (Giving information) while the students take notes. Although there is some of that in BCC, this course offers much more. Firstly, students study the Bible for themselves. That is what makes it so much fun! Classes incorporate the workshop concept into them daily, which above the benefit of learning for themselves, also empowers the students with a practical means to illustrate what they are learning. Workshops take a variety of forms such as drawing, painting, drama, music, group activities and many more. This self-discovery method of study, distinguishes the BCC from traditional ways of learning. Also, through activities like workshops and other teaching methods, this course adapts itself to different learning styles.

   Have you ever wondered what times were really like during Biblical Times?

   BCC pays great attention to giving the students a clear understanding of the culture and history of the Bible. Whether its cultural workshops that gives the students a chance to dress like and play the role of Biblical characters or illustrating Jewish or Roman historical society, BCC gets the students involved!!!

   How many Christians have never read through the whole Bible?

  When you do an BCC you get to read through the whole Bible and do an in-depth study of a selection of books.

   During this course, the students learn how to go through all the steps of Inductive Bible study - Prayer, Observation, Interpretation, Application and we don?t stop short of Proclamation. A whole week is given on Preaching and Teaching inductively from the Bible. Another whole week is given on how to lead Inductive Small Group Bible studies. Not only will students be given instruction on these ministry equipping skills, but opportunities to use them during practical sessions. Imagine adding these skills to your ministry!

   Along with Inductive Teaching, Preaching and Small Group Bible Studies, students also learn from the apostles how to prepare an evangelistic message. These times are powerful as the excitement of learning God's word spills out onto the streets.

   What would a school be without worship and prayer?

   BCC gives room for God to direct and lead these times. As a result prayer and worship times are creative in nature. Students from past schools have remarked that these times of prayer and worship were some of the their highlights during the school.

   We invite you to do an BCC. It will be a fun 3 months of learning, study and creativity. That we guarantee!
